Why CMOE

Team Building for Fun

Techniques for build teams come in many shapes, sizes, and styles. One of the greatest things about team building is that it allows your organization or team to regroup, celebrate success, do essential team development, or simply have some fun away from the constant demands of business to increase moral and boost productivity.

Since 1978, CMOE has conducted over 1,700 team-development and learning events for clients. We have witnessed how teams grow and become more committed simply by spending time together and having some serious fun. We have discovered that when we bring a team together just for fun, many of the barriers and obstacles that exist in a formal learning program are overcome. This allows both the group and the individual participants to spend more time getting to know one another, establishing stronger relationships that result in positive outcomes in professional settings. Some of these results include greater trust, respect, and the genuine desire to help one another return to the job.

There are a number of occasions, both formal and informal, when you might consider scheduling a team-building for your group:
  • During a formal training session when you want to energize the group
  • Celebrating a successful outcome on a project
  • Reaching a team or organizational goal
  • Recognizing an important milestone or anniversary connected to your team, department, or organization
  • Holding a holiday party
  • Kicking off an annual conference
  • Jumpstarting a strategic-planning meeting

These fun team building sessions use a flexible design - your activity can run for mere hours to multiple days. CMOE has experience in facilitating extended remote or "challenging" retreats that have rejuvenated the team's spirit and lifted it to higher levels.  These sessions have allowed teams to create a balance between work and life; they have used these activities to celebrate great successes.

Research has shown that when a group takes time to focus on and recognize their success, this validation tends to result in additional success for the team. Motivation, energy, positive emotions, and a more engaged workforce are natural outcomes of fun-oriented team-building events A CMOE facilitator said it best in his book Contented Cow Gives Better Milk: "A happy workforce is also a healthier and more productive workforce." When a group of people is truly engaged and excited about going to work with the people around them, an organizational culture that allows for the achievement of great results is the natural result.
