Leadership Development Program

A vast number of leaders today rely, unfortunately, on their natural technical skills, functional knowledge, or sheer intensity to achieve results. We see many leaders who have spent their entire career moving up the organization ladder without ever mastering core leadership skills and habits. Some organizations are able to get by, and yet many organizations limit their growth, development and ability to change because their leadership team is lacking the strength it needs. In order to enjoy long term success, it is vital for organizations to invest in a leadership development program. CMOE has over 28 years of experience designing and delivering leadership development programs to businesses and government agencies around the world.

"Qualities of Leadership" is one of our core leadership development programs. This course teaches the skills, principles, and tools that leaders need to contribute to organizational strategy. When leaders understand the qualities and characteristics that true leaders possess, they won't need to rely on sheer force, or technical skills to move the organization into the future. Our leadership development program will teach leaders how to influence, motivate, and inspire people to join with them in helping the organization develop and transform.

Like all of the CMOE learning solutions, the "Qualities of Leadership" seminar is highly interactive and experiential. We use combinations of survey feedback, observation, cases studies, and a variety of practical simulations to help leaders master the following principles and skills:

  1. Courage: The ability to face difficult situations and decisions and act appropriately.
  2. Will: The resolve, determination, commitment and dedication needed to follow through and achieve results.
  3. Humility: The ability to include and treat others as partners, share the credit and be approachable.
  4. Accountability: The ability to assume responsibility, and to hold others (and self) accountable for commitments and results.
  5. Enable: The ability to empower, delegate, coach and mentor people in a way that brings out the best performances in others.
  6. Communicate: The ability to facilitate open one-on-one communication as well as group interaction; and the ability to manage differences, negotiate, and build consensus.
  7. Credibility: The ability to gain the respect of others, to act with sincerity, become a trustworthy ally of organization members, and make a contribution to the organization.

In CMOE's leadership development program, we examine and explore great leaders both past and present as examples through our learning process. Participants leave the leadership development program with clear knowledge, concrete skills and a personal action plan that they can implement immediately. As with all CMOE programs, we offer sustainability strategies to help leaders maintain the skills and knowledge learned.
