Coaching for Success
In today's competitive environment, building partnerships through effective communication between leaders and team members is critical to long term success.
Leaders tell us that, while they recognize the need for communication and coaching, they either lack the requisite skills to coach effectively or are perceived by their partners as being overly controlling. CMOE's Coaching Skills workshops and learning events address this common gap by strengthening the ability of leaders to coach team members, while maintaining accountability for results and minimizing defensiveness.
The goal of Coaching is to create a deeper sense of "partnership" in the workplace. To accomplish this goal, CMOE's learning events provide leaders with a roadmap based on 35 years of ongoing research; leaders can use this research-based tool to support and guide team members through the process of change. In addition to strengthening the skills of leaders in partnership communication, our Coaching Skills programs initiate measurable change in team involvement and empowerment, and improvements in quality.
While the concepts used in the Coaching Skills Workshop are neither a prescription nor a script, the skills do provide a valuable research based framework to guide leaders through all types of discussions. Coaching Skills can be
- applied in discussions about successful performance (encouragement and reinforcement) and unsuccessful performance (problem solving and motivation for change).
- used at the beginning of new projects or with new team members (clarification and goal setting).
- employed during performance reviews, career counseling, development discussions.
- utilized when establishing and clarifying specific, measurable expectations that drive bottom line results.
- drawn upon whenever there are new changes in business direction that are necessary to maintain a competitive edge.

CMOE's Coaching Skills Workshop and learning events are designed to build a high level of confidence and establish practical skills in individuals so they can interact with team members in a way that motivates action, drives out fear, and creates interpersonal bonds that will enable people to accomplish the goals of an organization.
